It’s been a while…

I have not posted on this site for over a year. Let me say that again, over a year. I find it hard to believe really, but the stats are laid bare for me to read. How do things fall off the radar? How do our projects begin with such ferocity and then either fizzle our or vanish from our creative minds like a plane entering the Bermuda triangle?

And it’s only when something is jarringly brought to your attention ( a payment for WordPress leaving my account!) that we remember these things and why we started them. What about all the forgotten things we are yet to remember, where do they currently live?

But there is beauty in the sudden remembering, the revealing of a project once loved, a painting half finished. There is something special about the jolting, sudden return of something once endeavoured… it feels like it must have a purpose…

Let us pray;

We thank you, Heavenly Parent, that we are creative beings who love to explore the inner world and the outer world. We love to dig deep and we love to build high, we love to look in the tiniest of spaces and grapple with vastness of possibility.

Encourage us, Heavenly Parent, to seek joy in the pursuit of projects and passions, to seek purpose in the process from idea to realisation. Help us to understand why these things matter, why we need to keep going.

And when we forget, when we move away from things that once matter, if those things are for us, find ways to bring it back in to our sight, our thinking. Show us what work is still out there to be done, to be enjoyed, to be celebrated.

We thank you that it is never too late to once again pick up a paint brush, line a cake tin, dust off the violin, tend to the garden.

We thank you that it is never too late to retie or our walking boots, redraft a script, return a text or offer help to another.

Amen.
